Savanna Saunter

Join naturalist & natural resource manager Kenny Slocum for a guided hike through one of Clayton County Conservation’s highest quality natural areas at Bloody Run County Park. The oak savannas, oak-hickory woodland, and goat prairies have been a major focus of the CCCB’s restoration efforts, showcased by the rugged 1.3 mile Well’s Hollow Trail.

Participants should come prepared for the primitive trail with steep sections, rough footing, and possible off-trail ventures to interesting points. Sturdy shoes, long pants, and water are recommended.

Meet at the loop at the far end of the campground, near site #20. Bloody Run County Park is located one mile west of Marquette, Iowa. For more information on events visit
